Water, a want, it is needed to help people to survive throughout the tough days and times. According to D'Odorico et al (2020), water plays a vital function in the environment and culture and is a resource that is necessary for maintaining life on Earth. Water is technically a basic necessity for many uses, including household, industrial, and agricultural processes.

Imagine what happens if there is a day where everybody have no water at all. Let me share exactly about my past experience with no water at all.

As the morning sun shines brightly and reflected onto my eyes through the window, I was awoken by it. The first thing that I did was to check my phone for messages and had received a message in my family group chat from my mom that there would be no water at all for a day as there had been issues with the water treatment plant. I thought it was just like any other normal fine days like the past as we have deal with it but this time it was shockingly different. It is because this time we came unprepared, my family received a late notice and had not prepare by filling tons of gallons of water as much as possible to last a day. I was just there confused and I realized I just woke up so I smelt my body odor and it was horrendous. I had to move about with a stinky odor for a day. I went to the kitchen to drink water and saw that we have not much water left as it was from the last night batch.

As the situation could not get any worse, when my mom gets panicked due to a situation not going according well, the mood of the house just turned upside down. Due to the town having no water, it was announced that everyone should stay at home for the day. After that, my parents went to the nearby supermarket to buy some gallons of water but it seemed that everyone had the same thinking as well. Therefore, there were shortage in clean drinking water so the store manager had to limit each family to only purchase two gallons of water, which was not enough to carter for a family.

As half of the day have passed, my entire family were smelly and sticky as neither of us had a bath yet. The day was scorching hot as living in Malaysia is a no joke with a 34 Celsius. We have the smelly odor, our breath was stinky and the toilet smells like a waste nuclear bomb as we could not flush it at all with no water. Overall, the hygiene was bad. For food, we could only eat anything that is dry and does not require as much water as possible such as salad and other light snacks to keep our belly filled.

Since the country is Malaysia, in the evening, there was rain fall, it felt like heaven gave us salvation. My family worked together to take out buckets out and collect as much rain as possible. Although the rain smelled a bit like chemical as rain water in Malaysia can make people ill and sick but we did not care as it was a matter of survival to have drinking water. After the collection, we boiled the water and filtered the water as much as possible to make the water save and good to drink. It felt wonderful and we were relieved.

So, this was how the day had passed with no water at all. At the beginning, it was causing everybody to panic, nervous and anxious. It was a really bad day for the entire family but in the end, when god saved us by raining down, everyone regain back their positivity, relieved and happy.
